EARTHING & GROUNDING - HOW TOO

If your looking for a Life Level Up this is one of my personal favourites. Its known as grounding or earthing. Essentially its having direct contact to the Earth with our feet. Its such a simple, super obvious thing to do but stop and think for a moment, when was the last time your bare feet walked on an open patch of earth, grass, rock or sand? For those of us who live in the urban jungle this may have been quite some time ago. So why am I banging on about this, well let me explain.

Your immune system functions optimally when your body has an adequate supply of electrons, which are easily and naturally obtained by barefoot contact with the Earth.

Research indicates that electrons from the Earth have antioxidant effects that can protect your body from inflammation and its many well-documented health consequences. For most of our evolutionary history, humans have had continuous contact with the Earth.

It is only recently that substances such as asphalt, wood, rugs, and plastics have separated us from this contact.

I feel in our ever hungry quest to evolve technologically we have de-evolved by disconnecting ourself from our source energy, and mother Earth (Gaia).

It is known that the Earth maintains a negative electrical potential on its surface. When you are in direct contact with the ground (walking, sitting, or laying down on the earth's surface) the earth's electrons are conducted to your body, bringing it to the same electrical potential as the earth. Living in direct contact with the earth grounds your body, inducing favourable physiological and electrophysiological changes that promote optimum health.

There is an emerging science documenting how conductive contact with the Earth, which is also known as Earthing or grounding, is highly beneficial to your health and completely safe. Earthing appears to minimize the consequences of exposure to potentially disruptive fields like "electromagnetic pollution" or "dirty electricity."

Some of the recent evidence supporting this approach involves multiple studies documenting Earthing's improvement in blood viscosity, heart rate variability, inflammation, cortisol dynamics, sleep, autonomic nervous system (ANS) balance, and reduced effects of stress.

I make a conscious effort every day to take off my shoes and socks and walk bare footed in my garden, in the park, at the beach anywhere I can in nature and I have to say it feels amazing. I feel more relaxed, energised and more tuned in with nature when I do this.

The photo above was taken in the blue mountains Australia walking bare foot with my wife and friend. I remember feeling more connected to the place, it just felt right. I think our feet our the same as our hands, sensors which root us down to the earth. The mud felt great between my toes, like an expensive spa treatment =)

There is also a level up within this level up! =) I have an earthing sheet on my bed which is able to keep my body earthed in my house while I sleep! The sheet has super conductive micro fibres woven into it which joins into a cable and goes from the sheet into the wall socket next to my bed. It specifically plugs into the earth pin and thus connects the sheet and those touching it to the ground. I have seen other cool products available like earthing socks and small mats to place under your computer desk etc. Check out the video below by a guy called David Wolfe he is a bit of a legend when it comes to life level ups.
